Reintroduced in 2020 with some design tweaks, the New Balance 2002R has become one of the most popular silhouettes in recent years thanks to its versatile design and key collaborations with the likes of former Versace designer Salehe Bembury and Seoul-based streetwear brand THISISNEVERTHAT.
On the occasion of the launch of three new colorways of the 2002R, we have linked up with three different artists who have portrayed their own connection with the shoe in diverse environments.
Soldier is a London-based artist who finds his way of expression through camouflage artworks in which he showcases the art of hiding. The New Balance 2002R accompanies him in his creative process, inspired by its layers and Navy Grey color which he dissects into camouflage patterns.
From interior design to the world of tattoo, Romeo Pokomasse’s creative process is defined by progressive change and minimalism. He conceives empty spaces as a blank canvas on which he can envision everything he can do within it. In his multiple facets he is accompanied by the versatile 2002R.
Despite being the founder of Trading Places Records, a curator and creative director, Brian Boa humbly considers himself a citizen of the world. Borders make no sense to him, he is driven by having no limitation to what he does and where he does it while wearing a pair of New Balance 2002R.
You will be able to find this exclusive New Balance 2002R pack available on August 17th via solebox.com and all solebox locations for the price of 130€.
