The adidas Samba OG is a faithful recreation of a classic model that incorporates original design cues into a current appearance. For 2023 adidas brings back the legendary silhouette in its OG colorways white & black.
After successfully collaborating with the likes of Wales Bonner, Pharrell as well as Emily Obergs’ Sporty & Rich in 2022 it is time to reinvent the Samba in its purest form. A full-grain leather top and suede added at the toe, along with serrated Three-Stripes. The nostalgic vibe is authenticated by the bluebird and foil emblems, finished off with the infamous gum outsole.
To take the Samba to its befitting territory we visited Paris during PFW. Between pop-up stores, fashion shows and the splendid city of Paris, the silhouette perfectly merged into the holistic picture.
Since being introduced in 1950 by Adi Dassler himself, the Samba served several athletes in its early years, with the Three-Stripes being mostly associated to football. Nowadays you’ll more likely see them in in the rotation of modern-day style icons such as A$ap Rocky, Bella Hadid and Frank Ocean.
What makes the Samba so magnificent is timelessness, versatility, and simplicity – an all-day staple serving and uplifting every look.
