The Nike Air Max 1 has always found itself underneath the feet of creatives and forward-thinkers in subcultures across the globe. We joined up-and-coming singer-songwriters Suona Simb and Brisa Nunjo from the Voodoo Club collective through Barcelona with the Nike Air Max 1 ’87 ‚Great Indoors‘.
Voodoo Club started out as an underground party in the Catalan metropolis. The collective was initially founded as a safe space for Barcelona’s POC community to celebrate its cultural roots.
The events drew in artists and creatives from different backgrounds, quickly forming an eccentric community of multidisciplinary talent.
Suona and Brisa were able to connect with other likeminded creatives from the musical arts within this community, drawing inspiration from their mixed backgrounds and shared stories.
The collective spirit empowers these women to embrace their culture and explore new ground.
