Nearly 25 long years have passed since the Nike Air Max 2 Light first came to stores in 1994 as a successor to the Air Max Light original in 1989. The model has been praised for its highly technical four-chamber Air Max unit with two different printing systems and since then has established to a cult favorite among the long-standing Air Max heads around the world. Especially the lightweight materials made the sneaker become a runner’s delight.
The long break has now come to an end with the first eye-catching University-Gold colorway to conquer the market. A bright yellowish gold mesh serves as a basis for the revised classic, while the aggressively designed coatings use a white leather with a hot crimson Swoosh. Both on the heel and the tongue blue accents appear and the shoe is finalized by a bulbous blue Air Max unit.
The ‚Blue Lagoon‘ colorway iterates the Miami Dolphins colors on the basis of a white leather upper, with orange and light blue panels throughout. A black Swoosh on each side panel, circular logo on the tongue, diamond-shaped Nike Air branding on the heel and bright yellow insoles perfectly draw comparisons to the Miami Dolphins color scheme. Also featuring a Duralon outsole, phylon midsole and reflective piping, the beloved model is finally returning from the depths.
On Jan. 11th the first colorway will arrive at solebox online and instore followed by the OG colorway returning on Jan. 18th. Both models are available from US 8 – 12 retailing at 140€ each.
