If you are into high fashion, streetwear and sneakers, you will most likely have already come across his name: Jason Noire. Not only influencers from all over Germany, but also famous rappers let themselves be photographed in his unique style. Besides photography, he got a passion for fashion trends and of course sneakers. One of his favorite models is the Nike Dunk – that’s why we gave him the opportunity to shoot some exclusive content for us.
Nike is gearing up to release two highly coveted, Michigan-inspired colorways of the Dunk High this month. Starting with the long-rumored and Michigan State University-colored ‚Pro Green’ (18th of September) and following it up with the famous University of Michigan ‚Varsity Maize’ model the week after (26th of September).
We talked with Jason about his work, his personal style and his connection to the Nike Dunk. Get some insights below.
Hey Jason, you’re shooting with a whole range of interesting people from the German fashion scene – where did you start and how did you get into photography?
Hi! It all started with cell phone photos of sneakers for me. At some point I had a camera in my hand and the more fancy the shoe or the outfit, the more interesting it was for me. Meanwhile I have almost daily shootings – especially Justin, Victor and I have become a well-established team.
Many people describe your photography as very distinct – you’re also called the „glitter photographer“. How did you find and develop your own style?
In the German photo scene pretty much everyone did the same. The photos and the edits seemed not that interesting and always similar to me. I wanted to start something new that I hadn’t seen before. Of course I’m not the first in the world to take glitter photos. But because Justin and I create the photos the way we do, many people use my photos and my editing as inspiration. I think that’s why people know me as the „glitter photographer“.
What goals do you pursue with your work and what do you want to express with your pictures? Where does your inspiration come from?
My inspiration comes from my environment and my friends, who are all excellent in what they do. I want to be the best in my field and inspire other people to do what you enjoy doing. Just the way I do it.
You like to show that you are a big fan of the Nike Dunk silhouette. What makes this shoe so special for you? Is there a personal bond?
In fact there is a personal bond. Over 2 years ago I bought my first Dunk and since then I have been in love. The Nike Dunk is in my opinion one of the best silhouettes of Nike. I am happy that more and more new releases are coming out and that the shoe is celebrated by more and more people!
