On October 15th the Nike WMNS Air Jordan 1 High ‚Lucky Green‘ will be released at solebox. We teamed up with female photographer Bene and creative producer Aukje from Amsterdam to give you some exclusive insights and also had a conversation with Aukje talking about her style, her job as a stylist and her thoughts on how to wear the latest AJ1 ‚Lucky Green‘.
Who are you?
My name is Aukje but most people call me Auk. I live in Amsterdam, born in Katwijk Aan Zee, a city on the coast in the North of Holland. I work as a freelance creative producer and on the side I also do creative directing and styling. I’m just young and I want to have my hand in literally everything. I have a go with the flow vibe and also find it very important to keep my mind focused on things and people that help me grow in my work & personal life.
What is your signature style?
I never related myself to one specific style. I do love to take my fits to an extra level but I also love to walk around in a good set of comfy joggers. I think my style really depends on my mood, It can switch anytime, any day. Styles I love to wear is my courage, my intuition & my happiness.
Who inspires you/has a big influence on your work?
I’m lucky enough to have a lot of talented friends. They all inspire me on a daily basis. There are a lot of creative people I admire but not really one in specific. My work doesn’t relate to a style or group or whatsoever. I just really want to share art, make art & tell a story. Although the crazy world we live in is, I think, one of the biggest influences on my work right now.
The Air Jordan 1 ‚Lucky Green‘ features a predominantly green and white leather upper, with complementary hits of black and red. On the side, the usual Swoosh branding appears while the Air Jordan Wings logo is applied at the collar. Nike branding can be found on the tongue and insole. The latter references the wooden floor of the Boston Garden with its printed graphic.
What are the three essentials you need in your Job?
Good colleagues, a comfortable pair of sneakers and the most important thing of all: water & moisturizer. Stay hydrated kids!
How would you rock the AJ1 ‚Lucky Green‘ during your everyday activities in Amsterdam?
I would check the weather first! It’s a perfect shoe to wear to meetings or catch up with friends and family. It’s that shoe that gives a casual fit a holy glow.
What do you like about the AJ1 ‚Lucky Green‘?
I love how the story behind the shoe is focused on progress and not perfection. Although I think these shoes are perfect, I think in life you always have to move forwards no matter what comes your way, good or bad! Keep moving. Also I love the color way and it’s the inside that gives me a warm and cozy feeling.
