Reebok x Pleasures: Classic meets grunge

13. August 2021

Reebok has teamed up with Los Angeles-based streetwear label Pleasures in its latest collaboration. The result is two pairs of sneakers that take up the Club C 85 and the Club C Legacy. Together with Pleasures, the shoes now appear in a new design and bold colorway.

Pleasures is known for its punk, metal and grunge bias, as well as its provocative designs. The brand made its breakthrough by printing Kurt Cobain’s suicide note on a T-shirt. A move that on the one hand caused a lot of outrage, but also burned Pleasures into people’s memories. Since then, it has been considered one of the most provocative streetwear brands on the market.

So it’s no surprise that the Reebok x Pleasures collection includes some interesting and eye-catching details. First up is the Club C 85, which features a „Black/Pine Green“ colorway with a Cordura base and suede overlays. The rather plain shoe is enhanced by its unique fabric construction. A Cordura base, which acts as a waterproof upper, allows the shoe to withstand all outdoor activities. The suede on the other hand, gives the shoe that certain something, besides the color of course. The green looks Pleasures typical gloomy and dark and gives the shoe an edgy atmosphere.

The Club C Legacy, on the other hand, is kept subtle. The „Pure Grey 2/Pure Grey 4/Straw“ colorway, which is made of mesh and suede rather than Cordura, makes more reference to the Pleasures branding than a standout design. The label decorates the back quarter of the shoe, while from Reebok is seen more on the middle.

This collection shows how to successfully rework classic styles from the sports scene with creative and provocative updates in a modern and contemporary way.

Both colorways will be available at solebox online and instore from August 20th.
