ASICS can already look back at a successful year in 2023, which kicked off with the introduction of the ASICS GEL-NYC at Paris Fashion Week in January and a series of strong general releases. We take a closer look at the upcoming ASICS GEL-NYC and GEL-1130.
Paying tribute to New York City, the GEL-NYC takes design cues from the GEL-Nimbus 3, GEL-MC PLUS V and GEL-CUMULUS 16. The result is a multilayered material mix, reminiscent of late ‘90s sneakers, layered on top of a modern GEL-cushioned sole for everyday comfort.
The GEL-1130 originally released in 2008 as a stability running shoes inspired by the GEL-KAYANO 14. Kiko Kostadinov put his own spin on the silhouette in 2021, followed by the return of the original model updated with modern details such as synthetic leather, open mesh and GEL cushioning in the heel.
Both models combine retro aesthetics and futuristic influences with silver overlays, off-white and contrasting green accents for contemporary style that easily matches any outfit.
The ASICS GEL-NYC “Birch/Pure Silver” and GEL-1130 “Cream/Kale” will be available from September 23rd via solebox.com and all solebox locations.
