Album of the Week: Yeat – 2093

16. Februar 2024

This year we decided to channel our passion for music in the solebox HQ into a new content series. With solebox sounds we want to highlight our favorite new albums.

The second pick for 2024 is Yeats fourth studio album 2093.

First glimpses of a new record we’re teased by him in a now-deleted tweet where the rapper mentioned he scrapped the deluxe of his 2023 released AftërLyfe and was working on a whole new album.

To follow up Yeat offered another insight to his upcoming album in the 2023 Winter Issue of 032c where he told his fans: „Between the last record and this upcoming one, it feels like a ten-album difference in time. People have no idea what it’s going to sound like. It’s like a dystopian society.“

The rollout of 2093 has been a meticulously planned spectacle, commencing with a series of enigmatic posts on Lyfestyle Corporation’s Instagram. These clips unveil a futuristic world where the corporation has established various subsidiaries, each specializing in cutting-edge technologies.

As January 2024 dawned, promotional projections adorned landmarks worldwide, including Big Ben, Arc de Triomphe, and the iconic Hollywood sign. The number 2093 loomed large, signaling the official commencement of the album rollout.

In this fusion of music and narrative, Yeat invites listeners to immerse themselves in the dystopian universe of 2093 where societal boundaries blur, and the boundaries of reality are pushed to their limits.
