We took the M89 sneaker for a walk around Lacoste’s neighboorhood in Paris.
Lacoste was founded by tennis legend René Lacoste in 1933. Before oficially founding the brand he wore the infamous polo shirt with crocodile embroidery as personal tennis gear. The crocodile has its origin in Lacoste’s nickname and counts as the signature logo of the brand.
To this day the brand draws its inspiration from tennis. The Lacoste M89 is the perfect on- and off-court sneaker. Originally released in the 1980s the silhouette approaches directly from the archives.
This low-top silhouette features a mix and match of materials and colors such as navy leather, grey suede and red mesh. Topped of with a tag outside the shoe Lacoste delivers a modern version of traditional branding.
