After years of close partnership with A BATHING APE®, solebox’s made in Italy BAPE STA™ will be launched on December 30th 2021. It is a collaboration that celebrates our long-standing and exclusive partnership with BAPE.
Since 2016, solebox has been the exclusive official retailer for A BATHING APE® in various areas of Europe, including Berlin and Munich, Brussels and Amsterdam as well as Vienna and Barcelona. This means that we have already enjoyed a long partnership together. Building on this legacy, we have now worked on a joint collaboration.
The BAPE STA™ is the most iconic out of the whole footwear offering from the Japanese brand, which is why the OG shape was the perfect choice for a collaboration shoe. The silhouette was born in 2000 as an iconic sneaker and is considered a pioneer in street fashion. It symbolizes A BATHING APE® and is a beloved classic by sneaker lovers around the world.
And it was exactly this fascination, which reaches around the world, that inspired our design. We wanted to celebrate our successful long-distance connections and our long-standing international relations with our Japanese friends. Where could this connection be better expressed than in an airplane? The form of transport that makes the trips to Japan possible and at the same time serves as the perfect showcase to display our new classics.
Not without reason, we wanted to revive the OG shape, this time with our own solebox DNA. The colorway of the shoe is more simple and less flashy than its predecessors, but we kept the typical BAPE details. The combination of solebox’s simple design and high-quality materials, and BAPE’s well-known camo results in the optimal foundation for a one of a kind shoe. The shoes are crafted from high quality materials made in Italy, feature a heel branding and come in a branded custom packaging.
But not only the BAPE STA’s™ are a highlight of our collaboration, but also the apparel capsule collection, which with the coordinates of the Harajuku BAPE store and the Berlin solebox store once again emphasizes the successful connection of two brands around the world.
The solebox x A Bathing Ape BAPE STA™ and the exclusive accompanying apparel capsule will be available on 30 December 2021 in all solebox locations (BAPE STA™ via raffle only) and online via solebox.com.
