solebox and Daily Paper have come together for a capsule collection that reflects the long path to success. The collaboration is a reminder to “trust the process” that is not as straightforward as it looks from the outside.
Both brands look back on their humble beginnings and the hurdles and challenges they had to overcome along the way.
solebox started out as a small sneaker store in Berlin in 2002, long before wearing and collecting sneakers became a widespread phenomenon. Today, solebox is a globally recognized brand, synonymous with sneaker culture, with seven stores across Europe’s major cities.
Daily Paper began its journey as a fashion and lifestyle blog, founded by Hussein Suleiman, Jefferson Osei and Abderrahmane Trabsin in 2010.The three friends from Amsterdam shared an interest in fashion and design and soon began selling t-shirts with their logo.
Being of Somalian, Ghanaian and Moroccan descent, they wanted to create clothing for men just like themselves and celebrate their African roots. From there, the brand grew into a major streetwear label, releasing collections with references to African history that inspire original designs, patterns and prints.
The capsule collection features a t-shirt and hoodie with the collab logo on the chest. The store fronts of both brands’ first location are stylized on the back with the “Trust The Process” slogan above.
