This fall, Vault by Vans announced a collaboration with Aries. Founded as a celebration of subcultures, female-focused streetwear and modern creativity, Aries blends modern graphic storytelling with a vintage americana feel and nostalgic sportswear staples.
To celebrate the launch of the collaboration, Vans invited us to London a few days ago for an exclusive pre-event. We share some sneak peeks with you and introduce you to the silhouettes already.
Vans presented us the silhouettes they created together with Aries at the Serpentine Gallery in London. Besides the revealing of the shoes, we were treated to good music, drinks and food.
The second collaboration between Vans Vault and Aries conveys a ‚deadstock‘ feel in an authentic way. As such, this collaboration steps out of the norm and puts a focus on individual and creative expression. Prints and patterns are combined and classic silhouettes are given an unconventional twist. The inspiration for the design came from an old ‚customize your own Vans‘ poster, which shows the different patterns and lines of the silhouettes. An almost random arrangement of the different patterns and colours was chosen for the collection.
Aries’ head-to-toe Vault by Vans capsule aims for an authentic deadstock feel, with a six-shoe footwear collection alongside curated apparel and accessories.
Leading the footwear collection is the OG Authentic LX, Vans’ first shoe in two vibrant colorways. The Weed Muted colorway features a multicolor marijuana leaf-inspired pattern on the uppers.
The Tiger Muted style features an allover black tiger stripe on the tie-dye uppers and white sidewall, yellow color blocking on the sole, yellow black and white striped laces, and an orange typographic Aries branded foxing stripe.
The collection also features the OG Sk8-Mid LX in brighter versions of the Weed and Tiger colorways and the Authentic LX and OG Chukka LX in Tie Dye with Aries tiger stripe sidewall art.
The Vans Vault x Aries collaboration will be available online and instore at solebox from September 11. Aries apparel is available here via MBCY.
