Jordan Brand will launch their latest womens-exclusive Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG ‘Satin Snake‘ on August 6th. For this launch we met up with Bonn-based creative Elissar, who is a multi-disciplinary artist, deeply rooted in fashion and streetwear.
Over the last couple of years, Jordan has been building on its women’s offering and started to partner up with leading women in the fashion industry like Aleali May, Melody Ehsani and Olivia Kim. In the light of this approach, we’d like to leverage the female talents within our community, starting with Elissar El Hammoud
Elissar is a young creative, multitalented Designer, DJane & Photographer. She is not your typical streetwear girl but stands out with her strikingly different outfits – that’s why we would like to give you some personal insights and share her opinion about the AJ1 ‚Satin Snake‘ with you.
As an artist her message is to show the authentic, suburban lifestyle behind a whole youth culture while representing their daily problems. Her creative work is inspired by experiences of her everyday life, both political and cultural.

Bonn is not known for creativity and diversity. For this reason Elissar felt different and realized that she stood out from the others. Her clothing style, personal interests and opinions were different – she felt that early on, and from this point things changed for her and she started to express herself more than before.
„I want to reach people with my art who understand my point and share my opinion. My fashion should reflect my thoughts and my character.“
Functionality and an avant-garde optic with innovative features are the main characteristics of her everyday looks. In her opinion, the further development of streetwear is the perfect topic to link in and the Nike Air Jordan 1 Retro High ‚Satin Snake‘ is the number one silhouette to make a clear statement.

As part of Jordan Brand’s fall lineup, we now share an official look at the Air Jordan 1 ‚Satin Snake‘. A clever twist on 2019’s popular AJ1 ‚Satin Black Toe‘ for women, the all-new iteration — itself as a women’s style — flips a classic colorblocking scheme while using luxurious materials for a lavish lifestyle look.
A familiar mix of white, red and black provides an AJ1 ‚Black Toe‘-style color scheme, but swaps the mudguard and heel colors for a brighter look up front, getting stark towards the back. Red satin throats and sockliners plus black snakeskin swooshes and heels add a finalizing luxury touch. The rest of the upper takes inspiration from the beloved AJ1 ‚Chicago‘, mixing smooth red and white leathers.
